Mr. Long has 30+ years of experience in the acquisition, management, and operations of oil and gas assets. Long is a 1979 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a B.B.A. in Petroleum Land Management and is a 1983 graduate of Harvard Business School with an M.B.A

Mr. Kennedy has over 20 years of experience in the acquisition, management, and operations of oil and gas assets. Before founding Derby Energy in 2017, Kennedy embarked on his oilfield career in 2001 with Schlumberger. With extensive experience in both domestic and international settings, he worked onshore as well as in deep water offshore assets. In 2007, Kennedy transitioned to Continental Resources, where he oversaw the drilling of hundreds of wells across various basins throughout the US. During his tenure, he held several technical and management roles, contributing significantly to the company’s operations and growth. Kennedy is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering.

Jack Clark is a petroleum landman with over 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Clark and his firm have provided a broad spectrum of land-related services to many of the leading E&P firms in the Mid-Continent region. Prior to assuming his current role as Vice President of Land for Derby Exploration, LLC, Clark managed all leasehold acquisition and regulatory functions for Beta Shale, LLC, Bakken HBT, LP, Bakken HBT II, LP, and SCOOP I, LP. Clark holds a B.B.A. from the University of Phoenix in Business Management and is a member of the AAPL and OCAPL.

Mr. Parker has 20+ years of experience in geological interpretation, prospecting, asset management, and operations of oil and gas assets in the Mid-Continent, Rockies, and Texas. From 2004 to 2017, Mr. Parker was an Sr. Exploration and Supervising Geologist for Continental Resources with focused efforts primarily in the SCOOP, STACK, and MERGE areas of Oklahoma. From 2017, Mr. Parker responsibilities for Derby Energy has been to create value through prospect generation, A&D assessments, technical analysis, and field operations. Education: B.S and M.S in Geology from Oklahoma State University.

Mr. Long has 20+ years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, in a variety of roles including land, finance and investor relations. Long has been with the affiliated companies since inception and has been crucial to the formation of the various entities and execution of the business plans. Long holds a B.B.A. from the University of Oklahoma in Business Management.

Mr. Fosbenner is a CPA with 25+ years of experience providing services of financial management, tax preparation and consultation, and auditing and assurance to private and public oil & gas companies as a partner of Smith, Carney & Co., P.C. Additionally, in 2013, Mr. Fosbenner worked to prepare MidCentral Energy Services for a merger with New Source Energy Partners, LP, a publically traded MLP; Mr. Fosbenner remained as Controller of New Source Energy Partners. Fosbenner holds a B.B.A. from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Mr. Weatherholt has 20+ years’ experience in financial services to the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining the Derby companies in 2015, Weatherholt served as Senior Vice President in Energy Lending at Bank of Oklahoma, where he worked for 12 years, facilitating a wide variety of oil and gas producers as well as midstream companies. Weatherholt holds a B.B.A. from the University of Oklahoma with a double major in Energy Management and Finance.

Mr. McMahan has 30 years of technical support/strategy experience in the upstream/midstream energy industry. For Koch Industries, Inc., McMahan’s midstream experience included HPGL pipeline, civil, structural, supporting facilities/system design, and asset mapping (GIS). Mr. McMahan was with Continental Resources, Inc. for over 15 years as a Geo-Technical and Strategic Technical Services Manager, focusing on technical resource planning functions and budget forecasts for the Exploration Department in the areas of software, hardware, master data management (big data) support, and 3rd-party/contract support services. McMahan holds an A.A.S. in Engineering Technology and a BS in Business Management.

Mr. Hayward has been with the affiliated companies for over 10 years, and currently serves as their Senior Landman. Mr. Hayward earned his B.S. in Political Science from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2007 and his J.D. from the Oklahoma City University School of Law in 2012. Prior to joining Derby, he worked as a contract landman and prospect manager for several Oklahoma City-based oil and gas brokerage firms including Drovers’ Trail Land Company, LLC and J.C. Land Management, Inc. Mr. Hayward is licensed to practice law in Oklahoma and is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the Oklahoma City Association of Professional Landmen.
